It may have had something to do with a certain someone’s wedding dress. Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen, has been named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Burton will be awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) after just two years at McQueen. This news comes, interestingly enough, over a year after she created Kate Middleton’s iconic wedding dress.

Other notable figures who will also receive awards for the contributions to fashion and arts include Mulberry creative director Emma Hill who will receive a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) and Kate Winslet with a CBE.
